How to choose the best bonus offers

The old Datbet was not the best place to accept a deposit bonus from. A lot has changed since then, so here are some tips for finding the right bonus today.

Stick to sites with licenses from the better regulators

Datbet, as far as we know, had a license from the Curaçao authorities. Plenty of really great online casinos and betting sites have the same license, but a Curaçao license is also one of the easiest to get. A license from Malta – the Malta Gaming Authority – is considered more stringent, and a license from Gibraltar even more still. Less common but still considered fairly strong are licenses from Alderney and the Isle of Man.

Just having a license is not absolute proof that a gambling provider is on the level. A website could change ownership, or get hacked. Regulators try their best, but they are not perfect. Still, a license from one of the better providers is a good start.

Remember, a genuine license will have a link to the licensing authority’s website in the footer, linking directly to the page that shows the website is in good standing. If there is no link, there is likely no license either. While a Curaçao license is not as strong as others, it is still worth something. Operators are known to claim to have them when they have no license at all!

Stay away from offers that are too good to be true

Some casinos and betting websites have offers that are simply impossible to fulfil. Be on the lookout for matching deposit percentages that are insanely high – like 300%. Or maximum bonus amounts that are sky high, like $3,000.

Is there cashback as well? Cashback up to 25%?

A casino or betting site that has to give away the kitchen sink to get your business is either struggling to get any customers, or is not being honest with you. If it sounds like it is impossible for a website to make money if they follow through on their offer, they probably are not.

How long are the terms and conditions?

Nothing is likely to put you to sleep as quickly as reading through a long list of terms and conditions. But what if they are not long? What if they are pretty brief? Vague even? If you encounter anything like this, alarm bells should be sounding!

Writing extensive lists of legalise is time consuming, and sites that are looking to scam you are likely not to bother with this nicety. If you think the terms looks too simplistic, there may be a very good reason for this!

Check out the bonus rules

Even if you think you’ve found a betting website or casino that is trustworthy, making a deposit in order to get a large bonus is still a significant investment.

Take into account how big the bonus is, but also how hard it will be to meet the bonuses rules and eventually (hopefully) make a withdrawal from your big pile of winnings in cash.

The most important stipulation to be on the lookout for is the amount of times you need to cycle through a bonus before winning. Finding the lowest wagering requirement casino or betting site should always be the goal!
